A lake I want to dive

Its kinda odd to be thinking of diving while its snowing outside but I am. There is a lake in Oregon called Clear lake that has claimed visibility of 300 feet. It is also ranked the as the #9 inland dive in the US. I want to go diving there... there is old trees and cool underground terrain to see. One site that had info on diving there the water was 41-46 F which isn't unbearable considering I did my checkout dives in November on the Washington coast, although from another quick search temperature was probably around 48 F. I still think diving Clear lake would be cool - literally :)
Anyone wanna come with me? In the summer maybe? Might have to just make my dad go with me.

Clear Lake is a cool place to dive. In a wet suit, though? I wouldn't recommend it unless you are one of those people who never gets cold. I've seen people do it. Would I? No way. As you said, you'll want to wait until the summer to dive it. Check out http://diverhead.com/ -- we typically make 2-3 trips to Clear Lake during the Summer and Fall. There are lots of Clear Lake photos on the site, too. It's a very cool place to dive. As Clear Lake is just over 3000 feet above sea leve, consider taking an Altitude Diving class. Dive shops in the area often use Clear Lake as the checkout dive!

I've been there - to Clear Lake. Not too far from Big Lake (w/in 30 min). I want to go, but I've never done any diving :( And I don't think I'd be good at it...

I wanna go. to bad i've never dived, and i'm POSITIVE i'd be terrible at it. snorkling I can't get more than about 15foot down because I'm absolutly terrible at equilizing my ears. TERRIBLE I TELL YOU!

whats this high altitude diving stuff? is that like where they put a swiming pool in a plane? kinda like a hot tub in the back of a limmo? ok... ok... back on topic.. TERRIBLE I TELL YA!

There are different rules when it comes to high altitudes and diving... has to do with getting the bends (quite sure you have an idea on what that is). When you're diving equalizing your ears can actually be easier than free diving since you can go down really slowly... one of my friends who now dives a lot had problems when he first started. He had to go down really slow and try all sorts of tricks to get his ears to clear but now after many dives he doesn't have any problems.

Sure we should all meet there and I'll go diving... I'll just have to bring a dive buddy.

i've got a blow up doll that can be used as your dive buddy.
anything goes wrong and just float on up with it. :)

but PLEASE do not inflate this baby deep underwarter - i don't want it comeing up wiht the permament bends: explosion.
